Free Cat MP3 - Catnipped Kitty

I am back in the studio to record my second edition of Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers. I had so much great feedback from the first album, I HAD to do another. And lo and behold, I haven't finished this album and already people are talking about a THIRD album. One paw at a time. Last week, I recorded three songs for the CD. This is the first of them. You can download it for free. Just do me a wee favor. Tell a friend. Post this in your blog. Post a review of the first album on iTunes. Recording albums with a producer is no inexpensive task. So I can use all the help possible at getting the word out. So please share this song with your friends. Thanks!

New Cat Game - Parachute Cat

Okay, I'm sure someone else has come up with this game too, but I just got done playing Parachute Cat (yes, I made up the name too;). Do you remember playing with the parachute in gym class growing up? All the kids in gym would grab a side of the parachute and pull it taught. I always loved that game though I forget what happened next. Was it a ball on the parachute that we bounced all around? Or did we just run underneath it? I don't remember.

But a couple years ago, my tabby cat, Torre, fell in love with a similar game with bed sheets. Every time I wash my sheets and am about to put them on, Torre races in and pounces on the sheets. He runs underneath them, tackles corners, or jumps on top triumphantly. It's the cutest thing.

Sure, my arms wear out quicker than he does as I flap the sheet up into the air for another round of Parachute Cat, but for ten minutes we have a grand ol'time. Tiziano even joined the fun today. So now go try out the new game with your kitty and let me know if they enjoy the game too. For extra added fun, you can play my Cat songs while you and your cats enjoy the game.

Should Cats Eat Veggies?

Providing some fresh additions to food can be very beneficial and tasty for your cat. It's not uncommon for cats to selectively eat food containing nutrients they may be deficient in. This instinctive act sometimes alerts their people to the particular deficiency.

An outdoor cat relies on natural greens to aid his digestion. Not all cats are plant eaters. But if your cats, you can plant a pot of grass for leisurely nibbles, so your cat will have his own grass and not have to seek out your plants.

Serving vegetables to your can can provide extra means of fiber, or extra boosts of easily destroyed vitamins.

Cucumbers. You're laughing, right? I've seen may cats go crazy for a slice of cucumber. Peel the cucumber if it has been waxed.

Garlic. "Garlic?" Garlic is very good for your cat. Yes, unfortunately you may have to endure his garlic breath. Garlic contains vitamins B and C. It can purify the blood and rid the body of excess glucose.

Here are some more suggestions: Broccoli, Green Beans, Lima beans, Peas, Tomato Juice, Carrots, Celery.

Why A "Cat" Is Called A "Cat"

The English word "cat" is very similar to the word used for our feline pets in other languages spoken in Europe and around the Mediterranean. The table below lists the word for cat and the language:
  • Kat Dutch
  • chat French
  • Katze German
  • gatta Greek
  • kottur Icelandic
  • gatto Italian
  • qattus Maltean
  • katt Norwegian
  • kot Polish
  • gato Spanish
  • katt Swedish
Clearly "cat" is an ancient word that spread into many regions from a single source. The source appears to be Arabic because the oldest use of "cat" is in North Africa where the term is "quttah".

A few other terms relating to cats originate from the Mediterranean. One is the word "tabby", which is derived from the Turkish word "utabi". And the general word for a cat in Turkey is "kedi", which may be the ancestor term for the English word "kitty".

MORE Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers - SPONSORSHIPS AVAILABLE

Cats. I love 'em. I love them so much that I decided to record a CD, Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers, and an Irish Drinking Songs: The Cat Lover's Companion CD as well. But the questions from fans (and my cats) kept coming, "When are you gonna record ANOTHER cat parody CD?"

Over the past couple of years, I've been writing and collecting songs. I finally looked and I have enough songs to fill a CD. So I decided it is at last time to start recording the next CD--MORE Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers.

My goal is to start recording in January and February, starting with another CD (and maybe vinyl) single What Do You Do With a Catnipped Kitty. I still need to find a producer for the album though. Ari Koinuma is moving and won't be able to produce the new album. But I have two new people in mind to produce the new album. I just need to talk to them about the project.

In the meantime, the album will cost $8-10,000 to create. Oy! And I don't have that kind of mullah. So once again, I am looking for sponsors to help me record and release the album. I put together several Sponsorship Packages for anyone interested in helping. The Personal Cat Sponsorship Packages include lots of CDs, t-shirts and even wooden mugs. The Cat Business Sponsorship Packages will allow you to pre-order copies of the CD AND promote your business on the website and on the CD itself.

My expected release of the More Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers is Fall 2008. You can help me get this new ball of string rolling, please Adopt the CD Now!
