Cat Drinking Tails - Whiskers in the Jar Up for a Grammy?

Tiziano and Torre Move to NOLADear Cat Lover,

It was a tough couple of weeks for me and Tiziano. Marc moved us all to Louisiana.

Right now, we're living in a trailer near near Hammond, where Marc is performing at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. He assures me that at the end of the month, we will move into the Garden District of New Orleans for our new home. I am so ready to get there! This tiny place is for the dogs.

The trailer is small. There are a lot strange sounds outside. And all the humans... Hss! I like to be worshipped by Marc in the quiet. Tiziano has barely come out from underneath the bed covers he's so scared.

Typically, we come out at night. Then Marc gets all hissy when we finally have a chance to stretch our legs around the trailer. Serves him right for hauling us away from our home!

Though I must admit, and don't tell Marc. It's kind of exciting. But get me to my new home already!

"My Cats Give 5 Stars Too! I have Irish Drinking Songs For Cat Lovers and love it but I have to say this CD is even more fun. The lyrics are so original. I can't help but smile every time I listen to it. My favorites are What Shall We Do With A Catnipped Kitty and Danny Boy. So buy the CD and raise a glass in a toast to cat lovers and great irish music." -MaryLou Griffith

WHISKERS IN THE JAR UP FOR A GRAMMY?

Whiskers in the Jar - Album CoverIf you were watching Marc's blog, you might've seen that Whiskers in the Jar is up for a Grammy... Well, not exactly.

The CD is one of thirty plus albums that are up for a nomination. That means that if enough NARAS members vote for it, then it could be nominated for a Grammy and join just five albums at the Grammy Awards ceremony to win.

I wonder if we win if they would let me accept the nomination? Mreow. Not sure I would want to go to the Grammys. I'm not that fond of people who aren't worshipping me... Or humans period...

I admit I am really proud of my CD though. My vocals, of course, are the best. You may purr now.

Mreow! While you can, go get a Celtic Cat
Wooden Mug
and raise a toast to Torre Gunn! ...and maybe the other Dubliners' Tabby Cats too who are on this album. Then tell your fellow cat lovers about Whiskers in the Jar!

Watching Outside the Window

For Sale - Sorry. Just the AutoharpDear Cat Lover,

Hey! It's Tiziano.

I love windows. It's better than TV. There's so many wonderful things outside to see. While I love atching bugs, birds and anything else that I think Daddy might be proud to see I caught, sometimes I just want to watch the world change.

I think it is sort of like when humans stop to smell the roses. I like to stand in front of the sliding glass door or on a windowsill and watch the world go by, take a nap, wake up, and watch some more. All the while I can bask in the warm sun, complete with the happy knowledge that it will be there when I awake from my next nap.

"What outrageous FUN! The music and lyrics definitely tickle the funny bones of anyone who is a fan of celtic music and felines. Marc, your music is a must have for all! Please keep entertaining us with your wonderful talents!"

PURRING YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO MUSIC

Whiskers in the Jar - Album CoverWe are all super excited with how well "Whiskers in the Jar" is doing. The album has captured the hearts of Celts and cat lovers all over.

Meanwhile, Daddy has a few CD Release parties for the album. He should be done with two in Louisiana by now. This week, there's a big one at the Cactus Cafe in Austin with his friend Cedric of the Bedlam Bards, and then he's going to Fort Worth for another CD Release.

After that, I think we can finally have Daddy back home for a while. I miss him. He's only been gone for a few days. I can't wait for him to come back home. Torre gets a little overbreaing whenever Daddy leaves.

Mew! I hear that Daddy is almost out of the Celtic Cat Wooden Mugs. So this might be your last chance to get one. Daddy hasn't decided if he's going to reprint the mugs yet.

Mew, Mew! The new CD cover is now on T-shirts at Cafepress.

WHISKERS ON THE RADIO
Daddy sent out a bunch of CDs to radio stations and even his favorite NPR. He's hoping he'll get a feature there. Even if he doesn't, we would like to get some more CDs to other stations.

If you know of a radio station in your area that might enjoy hearing our songs, please send us the station's snail mail address, as well as the folk music DJ or the novelty music DJ's name. We will send something along to them.

Keep telling your feline friends.

Human Frustration

Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Homepage

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

I Am Not AmusedDear Cat Lover,

I just DON'T understand humans sometimes. I tell Marc over and over again what I want, and he doesn't listen! And then, when I do something that he doesn't like and that I told him I was gonna do if he didn't change, he gets angry. What's up with that?!

Tonight was one of those occasions. I told Marc time and time again that I don't like the new pine pellet cat litter. It just doesn't appeal to me. I can't clean up after myself, and it's too slow to asorb. So I peed on his old leather chair. I told him I would if he didn't get me better litter. I did. And he was upset about it. So!?! It's not like I didn't tell you. I DID!

There has to be an easier way to communicate. This meowing stuff only goes so far. I can barely get Marc to let me out on the porch, let alone get me a decent litter.

Any cat out there have a good suggestion so I don't have to smack my human with clue-by-four?

"So many good songs it's hard to pick a favorite! Good humor and excellent music. "A Cat Named Rover" rates high. As a dyed in the fur cat lover and Celtic music fan, this album was irresistible! I am currently owned by 7.5 cats. (The half cat belongs to my neighbor, but she(the cat) visits a lot.) Cat #7 has her own apartment in my garage. She is not socialized, so the only way I can see her is with a network observation camera. Cats 1-6 live in my house. Thanks, Marc, for the perfect album for a Cat and Celtic fanatic."
--Beatrice Walters

FRUSTRATION AND WHISKERS
Despite my frustration with The Human, at least my new CD, "Whiskers in the Jar" is done. I finally got him to finish that album. Though he hasn't told me if we have a definite time when it will arrive back here. I wish it would get here already. My trill at the end of "When the Dairy Farm Caught Fire" is awesome! I was in perfect tune... and the timing. Ah! I'm a genius. Yes, I am.

Whiskers in the Jar - Album CoverMarc tells me we're still six grand in the whole with this one. Luckily, the debt didn't stop him from racing out tonight to get me DECENT litter. Course, he seemed a little exacerbated. Then he came back and sprayed this stuff... Urine Gone, all over the house, like a madman. I thought he flipped.

Oh and he did not spray it on the new Celtic Cat T-Shirts. That's good. Boy, do those shirts look sharp! I should make Marc wear a shirt every day as penance for not listening to me!

Don't forget to download and share "Molly Malone... The Cat's Perspective/Planxty Hewlett" if you haven't yet.

SEND YOUR FRIENDS WHISKER NEWS
I think I am calmed down now. Dictating to Tiziano seems to do that. Of course, so does biting and scratching him. I think I made Marc paranoid too. Mehe. Serves him right.

Well, now that "Whiskers in the Jar" is done. It is time to start promoting it. If you haven't told a friend about the CD, what the mreow are you waiting for?! Go email three friends right now. Tell them their love cats is dependent on them owning this CD. They have no choice!

Then when you're done, go watch "An Engineer's Guide to Cats" on YouTube. Marc seemed to like it. But boy do those humans not understand us.

Uh oh! I feel the frustration creeping on again. Time to attack Tiziano.

Whiskers in the Jar - Album CoverDear Cat Lover,

Mew, mew! This is Tiziano. Torre is on Daddy's lap because Daddy got back from Oklahoma yesterday and looks all worn out. So Torre is taking advantage of the lap time. This means the computer is all mine. Prrr!

Course, Torre doesn't know how to use the computer anyway. That's why I write all the newsletters for him. I have the secret opposable thumb. Shh, don't tell anyone!

The other nice thing about having Daddy back is play time. Last month, he bought me this laser toy. We all love it. I love chasing this light as it zips around the room. Meoowm, off I go.

Boy, is it tough to catch though! Even when it sits still, and I pounce on it, it's gone like that! At first I was worried about my ability to catch things, then I saw Torre was having just as many problems.

"So many good songs it's hard to pick a favorite! Good humor and excellent music. "A Cat Named Rover" rates high. As a dyed in the fur cat lover and Celtic music fan, this album was irresistible! WHISKERS IN THE JAR HERE IN JUNE
"Whiskers in the Jar: Irish Songs for Cat Lovers" is finished, and it sounds purrty. Daddy, Torre, and I are all so happy with the new album. Even though Torre keeps saying he didn't get to sing enough. Mew, mew, mew!

Wooden Cat Lovers MugI gave the CD a thorough listening. It doesn't have my song on it "Tiziano Gunn", but I love "When the Dairy Farm Caught Fire" and "Big Strong Cat" and "Kitty Martin" and "Cuddles McGish". Oh! The songs are so much fun.

The CD is now up for adoption on our website. It is still at the printers, but if you adopt it now, you should have your autographed copy by mid-June. Otherwise, you might not be able to get a copy until July or August. If you haven't heard any of it, listen to our version of "Molly Malone... The Cat's Perspective/Planxty Hewlett". Download the MP3 here, and yes, share the song with your friends. If you can't wait "The Gift of Cat Love" three-song single is now on CD Baby.

Thank you for all your purrs and meows you sent our way in the making of this new CD. We hope you purr with it as much as we do.

STUFF ON MY CAT
Daddy got a cute email yesterday that someone who posted a picture of our "Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers" CD on Stuff On My Cat.

I must say, Kethry is a pretty patient cat. I don't think Torre or I would ever allow Daddy to put stuff on us, even If we were napping. Sure, we would be happy to lie on top of stuff for him.

I wonder. Is there are Stuff My Cat Is Lying On website?

Show #16 of the Cat Lovers Podcast went out last month. I hope to have Daddy record a new one soon. This show is very Shakespearean. Bet you didn't know cats were so into Shakespeare did you? Well, there's nothing like it went it is performed in it's original meowing, but the English version isn't too bad.

Mew!

New Cat MP3 - Catnipped Kitty

Happy Meowlantines - Celtic Cat HeartDear Cat Lover,

I hope you had a a happy Meowlantines!

Marc had a CD release party at Things Celtic for his new album, A Tribute to Love, on Valentine's Day. While he was singing love songs, I arranged my part for the new "Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers" CD.

We started recording the album last week. Marc came home from the recording studio with some amazing recordings done with Celtic producer Rich Brotherton. Half the album is now recorded.

I must admit I'm a little frustrated though. It is MY band, and Marc won't let me go into the studio. I nipped him for that when he came home last night. But I don't think he understood why I nipped him. Humans are so dense sometimes!

Well at least he's recording us at home. There's a big solo he wants me to be a part of on "When the Dairy Farm Caught Fire". I will yowl like nobody's business! You will hear me above all the other meowers on this song. Because it is MY album afterall. I think I deserve to be loudest on it!

"So many good songs it's hard to pick a favorite! Good humor and excellent music. "A Cat Named Rover" rates high. As a dyed in the fur cat lover and Celtic music fan, this album was irresistible! Real Cats Wear KiltsDear Cat Lover,

Christmas is almost here! Mreow! I can't wait. I asked Santa Cat for lots of catnip mice and cat treats.

And of course, I've been a really good kitty. I barely pounced on Tiziano at all EVEN THOUGH Marc has been on the road for the past month. That's REALLY good... for me!

And even though Marc will be in Germany for the next couple of weeks. I'll have my Grandparent's company for Christmas. But I miss daddy. I'm gonna nuzzle him extra when he comes home next week!

"Wonderful, had us bouncing of the walls and clawing the couch. Mummy Loves it too!!!!!!!! We got the cat lovers companion as well. Both CD's are Puurrfect, Marc Gunn is a wonderful human and a gifted musician."

Marc emailed me and let me know that we are ready to start recording "More Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers". Yes, that is the title of the new album.

Cat Lover's CompanionOur plan is to start recording the new album in January, 2008. However, we need to find a new producer before we get started. Our original producer, Ari Koinuma, has moved and is unable to work his magic with this new project. But that's okay. We live in Austin. So I'm sure Marc will find someone to do just as beautiful a job.

In the meantime, Marc setup a new adoption page for those who want to sponsor the New CD. We need to raise $5000 to make the new album happen. A Feline Tribute to Tiziano Gunn

Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Homepage

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Exhausted After Reading Harry Potter Deathly HallowsDear Cat Lover,

This is Tiziano. Myouch. I had surgery yesterday.

Daddy took us to see the vet to have our teeth cleaned. Dr. Sammon said one of my teeth was so bad that it had to come out. I felt so woosie after the surgery. I think the doctor gave me something. I am still in a daze now that I am at home because Daddy keeps forcing some nasty medicine in my mouth.

When Daddy saw me writing this newsletter, he told me to tell you to make sure you take your kitties to the Vet every six months to avoid this same problem. Now I wish I had gone!

I think I need another nap. Then maybe I'll re-read Harry Potter like we all did as a family after the book was released.

"The CD is very funny. I love all the traditional versions of the songs on it, but this time they are performed in a way you usually not hear them. My cats loved it and ... my dogs to. I never forget the faces of my cats, looking at the stereo and at each other, trying to find out who was in the stereo."
-- Martine from Belgium

A TRIBUTE TO ME!
Before I go to sleep, I want to tell you about my new song. Daddy's been working on a new CD called A Tribute to Love. He says it's not very Celtic, except for a couple of songs. "Star of the County Down" is one. The other is a song about me. It's based on an Irish song called "Old Fenian Gun", but this one is called "Tiziano Gunn". Daddy wrote it All about me. Torre is not on it at all! Prrr. Daddy loves me.

Cat Lover's CompanionHe's finishing up the CD right now to release it next month. But this weekend, he's going to Things Celtic for a CD release performance of our CD, "Irish Drinking Songs: The Cat Lover's Companion". This is the album that has all the original Irish drinking songs that we rewrote for "Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers".

Mew! Some more exciting news!

Daddy plays music at a lot of Renaissance festivals. So he found a guy to make wooden mugs with our Celtic Cat logo. He ordered one for himself and loved it so much that they are printing more of them. I already tried it out with some fresh milk. It was delicious and fun to drink from. Prrr!

NEW CAT LOVERS PODCAST
Aside from my song, the past few weeks were nothing but tragedy for me--a vet check up, a dental cleaning and tooth removal, and I had fleas. It was so bad that Daddy couldn't even pet me on my back. I hated that, but my back hurt so much. So I was rather happy when Daddy gave me some Advantage to get rid of it.

After we returned from the vet last week, Daddy recorded a new Cat Lovers Podcast. As always, it costs nothing to download. Hopefully, Daddy will put my new song in the next show.

Cat Companions Missing in Action

Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Homepage

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Dear Cat Lover,

The apartment is pretty empty without Marc. Tiziano's such a bore. "Mew, mew, mew!" If it wasn't for Auntie coming by every couple of days, I'd go mad. There are just not enough warm laps to lie in.

TorreYesterday, I was so bored I spent the day biting Tiziano's tail every time he got comfortable. Now he's hiding in the bedroom. And that's so boring. I almost wonder if I should just spend more time online surfing the net for catnip that I can bulk order from China.

At least the CD is doing really well. It is so close to climbing into the Top 20 that I can almost taste the catnip I'll be able to afford if it does. Oh so close...

"Hi Marc! I'm a kitty... aren't I a pretty baby? And WOW, you should hear me PUUURRRR!!!! I have a GREAT purrr! I LOVE your music! I asked Mommy to stop spending all her money on cat toys, and save some to buy your Kitty Kat CD... PS: My name is "Sandy"...and I always answer to my name and "want milk?". "MEeeooOOWWW Baby"!!! "
-- Sandy, New Jersey

OFFICIAL CD RELEASE ON JUNE 6TH
You can now read a bunch of reviews of "Irish Drinking Songs: The Cat Lover's Companion". I know, it's not just cats, but Tiziano and I have a couple solos in the CD. And those Irish songs, though not as cool as cat songs, are still pretty good. Marc and Ari did a great job arranging and recording that CD.

Irish Drinking SongsPlus, I promised myself, when we sell 100 copies of the album, we're gonna celebrate with catnip galore! If we sell another twenty, I'm pretty sure we'll be on the charts and purring proudly.

If things continue to go this well, I think we will be ready to go for the next ALL cat album. Marc was talking about setting up advance sales already for that album. But first things first. We need to make this CD a crashing hit.

I want cats everywhere to know the name of Torre! Lead singer of The Dubliners' Tabby Cats. So help me get started.

2. Email a friend and tell them about the new CD.

New CD On Sale June 6th

Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Homepage

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Dear Cat Lover,

I was the first to hear the postman at the door. He knocked, but Marc was in Tennessee so he never heard a peep. But Friday evening when our Aunt came to feed us, there was the box. She brought it into our home. I sniffed it and I knew. Our new CD was here!

TorreTiziano and I spent the entire weekend going back and forth to the box sniffing. Marc's friend Molly C. Loar designed the CD cover with yours truly looking beautiful and drinking milk on the cover. Oh. Tiziano is on the cover too.

Marc came back yesterday and opened up the box. The CDs look amazing.

We all spent the afternoon packaging the CDs to mail them to our fans. I even signed a few copies myself. Ah! I love it when new CDs come out. I can't wait until we release our next all cat one!

"I picked up your CD @ Things Celtic last weekend & I absolutely LOVE it!! I found myself humming "A Cat Named Rover" at work--what a fun song! One of my favorites is "Catnipping Green". It brought a tear (ok, several tears) to my eye to picture the elderly cat going off on his final voyage. Luckily, my kitties are used to me crying over a good song!"

MARC IN IRELAND AND ITALY
Marc is off on some exciting adventures and leaving us all by ourselves. Okay, our Aunts will be here and a few of his friends. But can you believe this?! He should not be galavanting around the world when he should be doing MY bidding!

Ah well. Nine days in Ireland, followed by 12 days in Italy to visit family. He told me he's scouting it out because he wants us to live there one day. But I don't speak Catalian!

He was trying to put together some gigs, but nothing quite came together. So if you know of anything, please email me. I'll forward the message along. Meantime, keep an eye open on this gigs website.

New Cat Companion CD

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Dear Cat Lover,

Tiziano really needs to learn how to use a laptop. All last month, Marc's home computer was down, and he greedily horded the laptop from me. He was so busy with St. Patrick's Day stuff that he didn't give me a chance to highlight the more important holiday--St. Gertrude's Day.

TorreSaint Gertrude was the Patron Saint of Cats and shares March 17th with Saint Patrick. At least, he didn't forget our day and smartly gave us some catnipped presents. But don't worry, it won't happen again. Or I'll pounce all over him while he sleeps next year. See if he gets ANY sleep on the week surrounding his birthday!

I guess since he and that other band, the Brobdingnagian Bards, won the award for best None of the Above Band in the Austin Music Awards, I'll give him a little credit. But next year the awards go to the CATS!

NEW CD STARRING ME!
Next year, we're gonna sweep the awards because Marc finally finished our new CD "Irish Drinking Songs: The Cat Lover's Companion". Before you get too excited and think this is the long-awaited CD with more songs that continue to glorify cats, please wait. It's not.

To Purr DivineThis CD is the companion CD to "Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers". Ari Koinuma on guitar backs Marc Gunn on autoharp and vocals as they perform the traditional Irish drinking songs that Marc parodied on our first album. If you ever wondered what the original songs were like before he got ahold of the songs, here's your chance.

The CD won't officially be out until July 1st. However, the MP3 album went on sale last Friday. And don't worry, I wouldn't allow Marc to leave Tiziano and me off the CD. We perk up our ears and tastefully meow on a few different tracks.

MARC ON MYSPACE AND A CALIFORNIA GIG
Thusfar, I've resisted the urge to join myspace myself. I don't think it's a dignified place for cats to gather. I keep hearing of too many cat predators and dogs on the site.

But Marc joined the lemmings, and he's been on there for over a year now. You can listen and download a couple of our songs while you're there, or do the same at SoundClick. And if you listen to our music, we'll climb the charts on both those websites. So please show other humans how much you love cats by listening.

Marc on SoundClick

Oh! And if you're in Austin this weekend or in California next weekend, Marc is doing a few solo shows playing his cat songs. This is a rare opportunity so go find out how you can hear him live.

Meowy Catmas

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Dear Cat Lover,

MEOWY CATMAS!

Marc, Tiziano and I are all enjoying some nice leisurely holiday downtime at Marc's mom's home. It's a bit small for running around. So Tiziano and I are holed up in one small room most of the day. But the others who live here are very interesting.

Mama is a pretty hot little kitty who is not very friendly. But Aunt Leah, a 17-year old Pekingnese, she's a sweetheart. She doesn't bother me at all!

It's actually kinda weird. I've never met a "dog" before. So this was quite a scary adventure at first. Fortunately, these dogs seem pretty harmless.

All in all, Catmas is here. And I can't wait to open up this present Marc put up on a shelf. The present came by me and I smelled catnip! Mreow!

CAT COMPANION CD
It's been a while since I've written. So a quick update. In October, I finally pushed Marc to record Irish Drinking Songs, A Cat Lover's Companion. This album features the original versions of the traditional Irish songs found on Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers.

To Purr DivineRecording was going great when he headed back out on tour, and it all came to a stand-still. Then he got back in town and Ari Koinuma, our producer, had to pause recording the album as his wife was having a baby. Marc just got word he was born four days ago.

Now Marc is learning new songs for the next Cat Lovers CD. We don't yet know when that will be released, but keep ear perked.

Dear Cat Lover,

It's all mine! The apartment is all mine. Mew, mew, mew. Mew, mew, mew, mew.

Cool CatsPeople came by yesterday to clean the rugs of our apartment. It was a nasty smell. They were loud and frightening. So I ran to the safety of the closet and hid until they left. Torre was not lucky.

I don't know what happened while they were there, but Torre was crying and upset. When they left, he ran into the closet and spent the rest of the day there hiding.

I came out and the apartment was all mine. Torre is still hiding up on a high shelf in the closet. So Daddy is all mine to rub noses with, lick, and cuddle. It's like Catnipping Green!

Doctor Torre the Tabby Cat

Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Homepage

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Dear Cat Lover,

If Marc didn't know who his daddy was before, he knows now. It's me, Doctor Torre!

Cool CatsMarc went to New York last weekend. When he came back he had another sinus infection. He was worried about it too because as of this weekend he will be on the road for nearly three weeks!

Being the wise Cat doctor that I am, I advised him to sleep. I followed him around the house reminding him again and again, time to sleep. Sleep he did.

He's slept almost as much as a Cat these past few days. And I've slept by his side to make sure he was healthy. This morning, he woke up and gave me the most purr-fect petting and massages I've had in a while. Yes, he is getting better. It's all in a day's work... and naps.

"I made my husband cry with your cd! He saved his fourth cat this December from a busy freeway and now we have as many people as we do cats in our home! My husband loves his Irish heritage. He also is quite fond of a good beer and a cute drinking song so the CD was perfect. Love the Lord of the Pounce! I had dogs growing up. Hubby has made a lover outta of me!

CAT CD ON iTUNES
With all the excitement surrounding the iPod for the past six months, Marc and I were really excited about getting our music on iTunes. Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers was so well-received online that surely every human who hasn't bought the CD surely has the cat smarts enough to purchase it online via iTunes right? Well, that's my philosophy anyway.

To Purr DivineHappily, you can now adopt it on on iTunes as well as a few other websites. Now's your chance to adopt the album and save a few bucks too.

Now, there is one small problem though. There's only ONE review of the CD on the iTunes website. So if you use iTunes, make me purr by posting a short review of the album. Hey, you can also cross post it on CDBaby if you haven't already!

I also want to send out a quick thanks to those picked up a copy of our new "To Talk Is Human. To Purr Divine" t-shirt with Marc's painting of me and Tiziano on it. Remember I'm the good looking one in the picture.

CAT CALLS IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Marc told me he got another email from someone wanting him to play our songs at some event. A month ago, he got one from a cat show. This last one was from a convention. If you want him to come play for you, email us. We'll talk about it. I am his manager afterall, so the final say comes from me! We'll see what kind of gifts you bestow on me to make it happen. Happy May!

Happy St Gertrude's Day

Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Homepage

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Dear Cat Lover,

Most Americans are quick to celebrate St. Patrick's Day on March 17th. Most fans of Marc Gunn know that is also his birthday, but what about us... the cats of the world? March 17th is also St. Gertrude's Day, the patron saint of cats.

Cool CatsMarc didn't learn this until last year. He was quite surprised by the idea too. I mean after all he was already planning to release a CD dedicated to cats and Celts, St Pat's and St Gertrude. What a nice bit of... luck?

I don't think so. We cats know that there's a way to the world. I am the master of my house. Tiziano is only second-in-command. Cats were once worshipped as gods. We haven't forgot. And we deserve it. We know this to be true. I mean, we are cats afterall!

So this year when you gather with your friends to celebrate the luck of the Irish, raise pint o'milk to the cats of the world! And most-especially, yours truly, Torre, your friendly neighborhood tabby cat. MrEoW!

"Great work. I found this cat irish site. End-up buying the album in the end. I couldn't help my-self. I'm a cat fan. Lost my 8-1/2 year old cat last month of cancer. These songs cheered me up big time."

TO PURR DIVINE - NEW T-SHIRT
After the last newsletter, I got an email from one of my adoring, wise fans about my end signature--"To talk is human. To purr divine". She said we needed a t-shirt with that slogan. So I gave Marc an earful. And he created a nice looking shirt though for some reason he added Tiziano to the picture too.

To Purr DivineThen a few days later, Marc decided to paint. He doesn't do this often so he found a picture of us he took when our guard was down. We were asleep. And for some reason he *liked* that. grrrwl

Well, it's done. Now he added that slogan and picture to a SECOND t-shirt with this new painting on it. I must say, it looks pretty nice... except for the fact that Tiziano is on it too.

Happy Meowlantines

Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Homepage

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Dear Cat Lover,

Happy Meowlantines Day! Tiziano and I woke Marc up early today. He was planning to record an episode of the Renaissance Festival Podcast this morning. So I thought there was no harm done. So we had a good scuffle to warm up, because the apartment was way too cold today.

Valentine's Day Roses from TnTWhen Marc groggily meowed Happy Meowlantines Day to me this morning, I was a bit miffed. He didn't give me a Meowlantine's Day gift! Then it occured to me that maybe humans don't know what cats like for Meowlantines. So l thought I'd set the record straight.

Yes. Cats love to get Meowlantine's presents. Any chance you get to shower adoration on cats is fine with us. As for me, I like a little bowl of milk and some Friskies salmon and tuna treats. If you want to get me a card, make sure it crinkles so it sounds great and is easy to throw around.

IRISH DRINKING SONGS FOR CAT LOVERS PINT GLASS
Marc mailed out all the milk pint glasses to everyone who pre-ordered "Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers". But before we could send them out though, I insisted that we test thim first.

Tiziano and TorreI told Marc to pour us a glass. And if he wanted to take some pictures of us drinking from it, he could get a few of those while he was at it.

Tiziano and I took turns testing the milk in the pint glass. It had a special aroma. They say that the type of glass you use is important with wine and beer tasting. Well the same stands true with milk tastings. The milk was strong with hint of marigolds and mint. Unpretentious and friendly. Yes, it was a good pint o'milk. But the glass made all the difference.

We ordered just over 70 pint glasses. Due to difficulty in shipping them, I don't think we'll reorder them. There are just a few more left. If you are interested in owning one, go to the Adoption page and place your order while they last.

Dear Cat Lover,

Help! Torre's holding me hostage.

Tiziano the MagnificentDaddy left town a few days ago. He has a house concert in Delaware tomorrow. He left us in the care of Aunt Nancy.

Well three days without Daddy, and I got sick of Torre bossing me around. So I told him off, "mew, mew, mew!"

He didn't like that. He pounced on top of me hissing and screeling. I took off running and am now living under Daddy's bed. I crept out for a moment and Torre was asleep. So I thought I'd send out a distress email with the hope that Daddy will see it and come racing home to save me. Daddy?

"This is the Cat's Meow! This CD is a real hoot and a joy to Irish mug-tipping catlovers everywhere! I enjoyed it so much I ordered a copy for a friend. Marc Gunn has a rare mix of great talent, musicianship, and pure fun! Buy this CD and get one for your friends, too!"
-- Bonnie Earnhardt

CAT INTERVIEWS GALORE
Aunt Nancy told me yesterday that Daddy got a lot of great publicity for the CD this past week. Yesterday, he had an fun phone interview with a radio station in Dublin on Spin 103.8. The Irish seem to understand the beautiful CD we created.

Torre on the PorchIn addition to that, he has an interview Monday morning on 98 Rock in Baltimore with Kirk, Mark, and Spiegel. Plus, a couple of newspapers, one in Dublin.

Everyone seems to love the CD. It has people purring all over the world. That makes me happy. prrrr

Oh! Aunt Nancy also told me that the Celtic Cat Pint Glasses finally arrived! I can't wait to see them when she gets them from the office. So those of you who are expecting them. They'll be there soon. Mew!

Happy Mew Year!

Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers Homepage

Please add "marc@thebards.net" to your whitelist or email address book, so that you have no trouble receiving future issues!

Dear Cat Lover,

Torre here. Well, I hope you all had a Meowy Catmas. Now I'm already for a brigth Mew Year. Today, Marc was burning a new master copy of our CD. I never realized how danceable "Lord of the Pounce" is. That sure was fun.

Tiziano the MagnificentI was digging into one of the bathroom drawers that Tiziano opened and pulled out a Q-Tip. Those are some of the coolest toys. That and every other thing humans don't want us to play with.

Well I had the Q-Tip in my mouth and did a nice improvisational dance with the Q-Tip as pounced to "Lord of the Pounce." I'm sure you can see it now. Michael Catley up on a stage. The sound of a someone using a litterbox while an audience member says, "I smell a tiger. Whew!"

" I happened to find Marc's page quite by accident, and then found his music to be irresistable! He has truly tapped into the heart and mind and soul of a cat! My cat says that listening to this CD is like enjoying her favorite catnip mousie...! Ditto. What higher praise can there be? "
-- Anita in Pennsylvania

THE RESULTS ARE IN... MORE CAT CDS
Me, Tiziano and Marc had a meeting a couple weeks back. Sales for Irish Drinkings Songs for Cat Lovers are splendid. Plus, all the reviews from cat lovers like you. Everyone LOVES our new CD.

Torre on the PorchIt was this time last year that someone posted our website on Fark.com. 90% of the people who commented on it said this was a stupid idea. But I told Marc to he'd better not stop. We deserve the attention. Not to mention there are people out there who so wisely adore us kitties.

Well, in our meeting we looked at all and decided that we will start planning to record another CD. We're gonna aim for 2007, but it all depends on whether we can get enough parodies written. If you are interested in submitting some lyrics, post them here. Last I heard, Marc was working on "Whiskers in the Jar".

Oh! Marc just told me if you have a cat business or want more than one or two CDs, you can bulk order them on the adoption page.

Adopt the CD now then tell your friends to do the same.

NATIONAL DISTRIBUTION & DELAWARE HOUSE CONCERT
Not only are cat lovers getting behind the CD, but distributors are too. Starting in March 2006, Irish Drinkings for Cat Lovers will have a distributor in the U.S. with Gestalt Records and Canada with Universal. They will pretty much only be selling the CD in music stores. Marc hasn't contacted any cat distributors, but this is a big step. Soon, you will be able to easily buy the CD anywhere.

"The Mining Ship the Red Dwarf" was recently included in a new funny compilation called Funny Musicians for a Serious Cause. The CD benefits Katrina Relief. It's packed with some of the funniest musicians in the nation. Give it a listen.

Last but not least, Marc will be on the East coast in January. In particular, he is playing a
